Having control in the chaos As we have returned from thanksgiving break I have heard an overarching theme of worry. Worry that we will have to go virtual, worry that there will be more impacts of COVID, worry that school will look different. This is real life concerns but what I am also hearing is that people are feeling a loss of control. We as humans love control. We love to be in charge, we love to know what to expect and we love the ability to practice choice. With a pandemic and a virus that everyone is having to learn the feeling of control can be sparse. But- we always have control. How do you have control you may ask? We have control of ourselves. We have control of our own choices. We have control of our ability to wash our hands, we have the choice to wear a mask (and wear it properly), we have the choice to social distance and we also have the choice to say no to group gatherings.
